#yum update -y trying to install #yun install revisor -y #revisor After the step : Load kikstart Data - press button next Error "Unable to retrieve software information"
Sounds like a repository issue -- perhaps repository configuration or network communication issue.
You mention using kickstart with Fedora &. I can't do that because my install dvd won't let me type in something like linux ks=floppy like previous releases. Any suggesions?
If you hit TAB at the ISOLINUX screen -- which looks like http://dailypackage.fedorabook.com/uploads/2006-07-26-f7isolinux.png -- then you will have the option to enter boot parameters, including the kickstart option.
hi chris. could you tell me how one could configure revisor to build from rpms (copied from a dvd, say) stored on the hard disk. thanks.
The revisor repositories are defined in /etc/revisor/conf.d using the same syntax as the yum repo files in /etc/yum.repos.d, so you should be able to define a local DVD as a baseurl and use that.
What I appreciated with Fedora core 6 respins was that the dvd image was built, and all I had to do was a download.
It is too bad that the respins stopped being created as Revisor does not rely on my yum cache to avoid downloads. I wish it did. So, it does a full download of every package, of course, taking the latest version. I also want to include certain off shore repositories. It would be nice to be able to make an ISO image of only those packages for installation by yum.
User of Fedora for almost 4 years. Now trying to create a live cd using revisor. I have only a question. Can we create our own live cd using a customized theme, wallpaper and fonts instead of the defaults? Like Slax, can we do the same for Fedora? If possible, where can i find the tutorials?
I am trying to use pungi to add a few packages to my existing Fedora 7 DVD image and no mater what kickstart file I use (for eaxmple, the anaconda-ks.cfg one or the revisor default one fedora-7-gold.cfg) I get a "no section headers" file error as in:
# pungi --destdir=/hda9/DVD4_7 --c /etc/revisor/conf.d/fedora-7-gold.cfg -B -P Traceback (most recent call last): r/bin/pungi", line 187, in main() File "/usr/bin/pungi", line 39, in main config.read(opts.config) File "/usr/lib/python2.5/ConfigParser.py", line 267, in read self._read(fp, filename) File "/usr/lib/python2.5/ConfigParser.py", line 462, in _read raise MissingSectionHeaderError(fpname, lineno, line) ConfigParser.MissingSectionHeaderError: File contains no section headers. file: /etc/revisor/conf.d/fedora-7-gold.cfg, line: 3 'auth --useshadow --enablemd5\n' install\n' pungi version is 0.3.7 any suggestions.
