Maybe it would have been a good idea to mention that
"ssh -X localhost" would let you to see the zenity dialog?
I would have -- but I didn't want to muddy the distinction between a login and a session. I would have preferred to demonstrate the text-based login on a character-mode virtual terminal, but I couldn't due to the limitations of screencasting.
Thanks a lot for putting the application names before presenting them.
I'm just wondering, how do you choose the packages you present ?
"how do you choose the packages you present?" --> Great question. It's pretty much on whim! I want to present a good mix of packages, so I use the daily themes to help with that, and I try to present a mix of GNOME and KDE, command-line and GUI, server and desktop. I include packages I know, packages that I hear about on the Fedora lists, and packages that I see browsing the repositories.
The "Suggest a Package" box (on the right) is helpful, but I don't get a lot of suggestions there (and I sometimes get ones I don't understand, or packages which I can't easily cover, without contact info). So if you have ideas, by all means, please send 'em in! |
